The fifth season of the Eureka Poker Tour will kick off in February and the opening event is set to take place in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. King’s Casino, one of the biggest and most popular venues in Europe, will be hosting the event scheduled to go down between February 21 and March 1. It marks the tour's third visit to the Czech Republic.

€500k Main Event

Those visiting Rozvadov in February will have plenty to do, as there are 22 different events on the schedule. The flagship tournament is, of course, the Main Event that features a €500,000 guaranteed prize. With a €1,100 buy-in and three non-consecutive starting days, the tournament was set up in such a manner as to give ample opportunities to all those wanting to play.

Day 1A kicks off on February 21 and Day 1B will take place on February 26. For all those eliminated during the first two days, Day 1C will offer a second chance on February 26 as well, but with at 22:00 starting time. It will feature a turbo format and will be restricted to only those players who busted during the two earlier flights.

Another change on Day 1C includes the size of the starting stack, which will be increased from 20,000 to 25,000 in order to give players more room to play quality poker.

Selection of Events

Apart from the Main Event, there are numerous other tournaments offered, including the €100k guaranteed Eureka 100 Grand Challenge, the €220 Rozvadov Cup, as well as a €550 PLO event. A special treat of the Rozvadov stop will be the Eureka Queen’s Cup, a women's only event with a buy-in of €60.

PokerStars is also running a special promotion for play-money players from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and the Germanic region through which the site is giving away seats to the Main Event via special online freerolls.

Some names expected to appear in the Czech Republic in February include Team PokerStars Pro Matthias de Meulder, Friend of PokerStars Natalie Hof, as well as Eureak 4 PoY runner-up Zoltan Gal.

Rapid Growth of the Tour

Although Eureka may not be as big (or as important) a tour as the EPT or WPT, it certainly has its place in the poker world. Eureka has grown significantly over the years and continues to do so with each new stop. With the changes in structure and schedule for the Main Event, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Eureka Rozvadov break yet another record.
