Maria Ho is anything but a stranger to the title of Last Woman Standing in WSOP Main Events. Her first came back in 2007, when she finished in 38th place, cashing for close to $240,000, and then in 2011 she was the last holding a banner for the ladies in WSOP Europe Main Event in Cannes. Couple hours ago, she was eliminated from 2014 Main Event in 77th place, once again as the Last Woman Standing in the field.

Taking a closer look into her results, her constant deep runs are hardly a wonder. With tournament winnings exceeding $1.6 million and as an experienced cash game player, Maria Ho certainly knows what it takes to find her way through big tournaments fields filled with the mix of amateur players and professionals.

It is a flattering title to be the Last Woman Standing in an event of such magnitude and such importance, but Maria had her goals set much higher this year, and rightfully so. After all, she is a professional player and, like everyone else, once the number on the tournament clock was showing fewer than 100 players, she had her eyes on the $10 million first prize.

I cannot express how thankful I am for the endless outpouring of support and it is truly what puts everything into perspective for me. Maria Ho;

Although she wasn’t able to replicate her success from 2007, Maria feels her game has come a long way since then and she has 8 WSOP cashes for this summer alone to backup that claim. She started the Day 6 as one of the shorter stacks in the room so a lot was up to the cards, but coming so close again and being sent to the rail must have been painful experience.

Despite the fact, Ho posted several messages on her Twitter soon after she was eliminated, thanking everyone for the support and expressing a general feeling of being blessed by the opportunities she has had thus far. And ending the Series with the cash of nearly $86,000 cannot be all that bad once the initial feeling of disappointment is gone.

Nobody knows what poker gods have in store for Maria Ho, but if we were to make guesses based on her success so far, there is a very bright professional future ahead for always charming yet very dangerous on the felt Maria Ho.
