Mike Takayama is the Champion of APT Manila

The Main Event of Asian Poker Tour ended yesterday in Manila with Mike Takayama claiming all the chips and the first place of $93,000. The event attracted total of 366 players who paid the buy in of 50,000 Philippine Pesos (around $1,100) for their place at the tables. Four days later, Takayama was the only one remaining, standing proud and more than $90,000 richer. Here’s a short recap of how the things went down.
Day 1A ended with 63 players
Day 1A of the Main Event of APT at Resorts World Manila entered 156 players and only 63 survived the cut into Day 2. After Day 1A Tan Tai Zheng from Singapore was leading with 166,500 chips.
Day 1B ended with 85 players
There was a total of 210 players taking seats for Day 1B. With a stack of 164,300 chips Dhanesh Chainani from Singapore was the top dog at the end of Day 1B.
Day 2
Out of the 366 entries into the Main Event of Asian Poker Tour Manila, 148 players returned to play Day 2. Day 2 ended with 44 players in the money and at the end of play Tan Gay Peng from Singapore was the overall chip leader with 617,000 chips.
Day 3
Day 3 started with 44 players and after 6 hours of play final eight was formed. At the beginning of the final table, this is how they stacked up. Chip leader was Ray Sanchez from Sweden with stack of 1,867,000 followed by Jay Lubas from Philippines (1,661,000) and Sam Razavi from England (1,037,000). Other five stacks were:
Mike Takayama - Philippines - 969,000
Emmanuel Imperial - Philippines - 851,000
Alex Lee - Singapore - 518,000
Denis Huntly - Australia - 376,000
John Jay Magadan - Philippines 38,000
When the last hand was dealt, Mike Takayama from Philippines was named APT Asian Series Manila Main Event Champion. He claimed the first prize of $93.000 and a trophy after defeating Jay Lubas, also from Philippines, who took 2nd place and a prize of $51,620. Sam Razavi from England finished in the 3rd place, claiming the prize of $34,730.

6th Alex Lee, Singapore - $15,500
7th Emmanuel Imperial, Philippines - $12,200
8th John Jay Magadan, Philippines - $9,600
APT Asian Series Cebu will launch the Asian Poker Tours’ calendar of events for the coming year. The event to be staged from 27th January –February 4th 2015, will return to the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and a long term partner the All In Poker Sports Club. For the first time the Cebu event will run over nine days and, in addition to even more side events, there will be three starting days for the Main Event.
