PokerStars is getting set to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the biggest weekly online tournament - the Sunday Million. The anniversary edition of this popular event was initially scheduled to take place on March 8th, but the date has been pushed to one week later.

Thus, the Sunday Million will celebrate its 9th anniversary on March 15th with an event that will bolster the amazing guaranteed prize pool to $9,000,000. The winner will take home a minimum of $1,000,000, making this event a must-play for online grinders and casual players alike.

March 8th is International Women’s Day and PokerStars decided to change the date of the tournament to “avoid a conflict with an important cultural event in many of our markets.” This is a quote from an email that was sent to PokerStars players, further explaining that a regular weekly edition of the Sunday Million will still take place on Sunday, March 8th.

A big turnout is expected on March 15th and the field will almost certainly include many big names and Team PokerStars Pros who will be there to celebrate with players but also to take a shot at the big money. With $1 million guaranteed for the winner, this Sunday Million could make a significant impact on quite a few lives and careers.

As is always the case, satellites are running round the clock and players can earn their seat for as little as 50 FPP. Although this is not the biggest prize pool ever guaranteed in a Sunday Million event, there is the potential for this tournament to attract a record-breaking field.

Additional information about the Sunday Million and available qualifiers can be found on the PokerStars pages.
