Yesterday’s press release from the World Poker Tour officially announced the dates for the historic first WPT stop in Manila for WPT National Philippines. The event will take place October 18 – October 28 and immediately after the completion of the final table, World Poker Tour will travel 800 miles northwest to visit Hainan, China.

These two poker festivals will offer total of 35 events between them, with buy-ins ranging from $250 and going all the way up to $25K. The Main Event, starting on October 25th, features the buy in of $2,200 and the final table will be streamed on the WPT official pages for viewing pleasure of poker fans across the globe.

We are constantly creating ways for our guests to have the ultimate resort experience, so hosting the largest and most recognizable poker tour in the world only comes naturally for us. Solaire is about creating moments, and the World Poker Tour is going to provide many powerful moments for everyone involved. Thomas Arasi, Solaire Resort and Casino President;

Philippines is an extravagant destination and a home to numerous poker players like WPT Champions Club member Noil Francisco. As for Solaire casino, the venue where the whole festival will take place, it offers a real private paradise to tourists and locals alike.

The first ever sanctioned WPT NLHE tournament in Mainland China took place in 2012. In 2013, the field nearly doubled for the Main Event and there is no reason to think that this positive trend will not continue. The Main Event features a buy in of $1,600 while other items being offered include $2,000 team event, $5,000 High Roller as well as $1,000 Open-Face Chinese Poker tournament.

We are excited to host the World Poker Tour for a third consecutive year, and expect another massive turnout. Poker continues to grow in China, and this year we will showcase our entire festival, offering live streams for every single final table. Frank Ng, Beijing Ourgame Ltd. CEO;

MGM Grand Sanya where players will gather to compete for their share of the money and the glory offers top of the shelf privileges like private beaches, great golfing experience, a famous spa with 20 individual treatment rooms and much more.

Having personally spent time at both MGM Grand Sanya and Solaire Resort & Casino, I am confident that our players will find these premiere resorts to be two of the best venues in the world. Adam Pliska;

President of WPT Adam Pliska explains how it is only natural for World Poker Tour to continue its expansion within Asian region. Much like China, Philippines is an emerging poker market and with this move, the WPT hopes to offer travelling players sufficient number of events to warrant a trip.

Matt Savage, WPT Executive Tour Director, is also very excited about opportunities in Asia, as he was the person in charge of running the first-ever sanctioned poker tournament in Mainland China.

According to everything we have seen so far and in general top organization of the World Poker Tour tournaments, we can fully expect a great poker festival to kick off in October.
