It’s a case of the usual suspects in the top five online poker networks with the highest traffic.

Few would be surprised that Isle of Man-based PokerStars currently retains its status as the world’s most popular online network, according to PokerScout. As of today the network has a seven-day average of 19500 users playing on it.

Some of this may be attributed to the fact that the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), hosted by PokerStars, is currently underway. The series is set to end on September 28, but in we can be pretty certain that online traffic on the network will remain at high levels.

Even if traffic drops after WCOOP, PokerStars will certainly not risk losing its top trafficked poker network status, given that the second largest network had a seven-day average of 2400 players.

That network is 888poker, which continues to live up to its reputation is a popular poker alternative to PokerStars. All eyes are now on whether 888 can hit the 2500 player mark before next week’s online poker traffic update.

Not far behind 888poker is the iPoker network, which is the only other network currently boasting a seven-day player average of over 2000 users. An average of 2200 players frequented the network over the last week, which has helped cement iPoker as one of the most popular online poker networks at the moment.

Fourth on the list is PartyPoker, which had a seven-day average of 1500 players on its network. That figure may be of some concern to PartyPoker’s top brass, especially given that the network’s player average, according to PokerScout, has gradually decreased throughout this year.

While that may be the case, the 1500 player average is enough to put it slightly ahead of Bodog, which is currently the fifth largest network in terms of poker traffic. Bodog had a seven-day player average of 1450 players, which puts it exactly in between PartyPoker and sixth placed Full Tilt Poker, which had a seven-day average of 1400 players on its network.

Four other online poker networks currently boast seven-day averages of 1000 players or more. They are – in order of the greatest amount of traffic – Pokerstars.it (1350), Winamax (1250), Pokerstars.es (1150) and Adjarabet (1000).

In the US, Party Borgata leads the way in the state of New Jersey, with a seven-day player average of 150, while WSOP continues to lead the way in the state of Nevada with a seven-day average of 90 players.
