After the public vote has been completed on WSOP.com and the Poker Hall of Fame Governing Council, the final list of ten nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame for 2014 has been revealed. At this point, it is up to current living Hall of Fame members and selected poker media representatives to deem who is worthy of this honor.

This is the shortlist of players who now find themselves at the door of the Hall of Fame

Chris Bjorin

Humberto Brenes

Bruno Fitoussi

Ted Forrest

Jen Harman

Bob Hooks

Mike Matusow

Jack McClelland

Daneil Negreanu

Hucklberry Seed

All of these players fulfill the requirements necessary for admittance to this prestigious poker circle, as they have all stood the test of time, played for high stakes, gained the respect of their peers and are at least 40 years of age.

Of these ten, the most interesting name is that of Daniel Negreanu. Canadian pro has been one of the most recognized names in the industry for many years and has played an important role in popularization of poker. Poker Stars ambassador has finally turned forty earlier this year and was eligible to be nominated. Sure enough, his name made the shortlist.

Mike ‘The Mouth’ Matusow is another colorful character well known to poker audience. While he is best known for his antics at the table, Matusow certainly doesn’t lack results to make the final round.

Bob Hooks is the oldest to make this year’s top ten. One of the original Texas rounders, this 85-year old has truly seen it all. He retired from the game in 2013, after actively playing for six decades.

Jen Harman has long been one of the top ladies in poker. Respected for her skills, Jen has couple WSOP bracelets to her name. Even still, her real passion has always been with cash games where she competes at the highest level and is the only female player who stood the test of time in the live nosebleeds circles.

Humberto ‘The Shark’ Brenes is truly a joyful character, but he is also a menace at the poker table. With 82 total WSOP cashes and 9 Main Event cashes, Brenes’ results are certainly worthy of the nomination. In addition to this, he played a key role in building of a poker scene in Latin America.

Ted Forrest, six time bracelet winner, the most recent one coming from 2014 WSOP has more than earned his place on the shortlist. Earning $6 million lifetime and being successful in practically every variant of poker there is, Forrest would certainly be an addition to the Hall of Fame.

Hailing from France, 55-year old Bruno Fitoussi has more than $2.7 million in career winnings, but his biggest contribution was in helping to get poker to the television in France and turning country into a real poker market.

Rare poker fans have not heard of Huckleberry Seed. His success at the tables brought him $7.6 million in career earnings and he is one of those recognizable faces wherever he appears to play. Huck is a serious contender for a place in the hall of fame.

Chirs Bjorin of Sweden is another veteran of the game. 66 years old, Bjorin has amassed career winnings of $5.5 million together with two WSOP bracelets and 68 Series cashes, making him more than apt candidate for the honor.

Finally, 62-years old Jack McClelland has been an important part of poker history. From directing the tournaments to running Bellagio poker room McClelland has been the part of some of the most important moments of poker development including WPT in Bellagio. He played a bit himself for a short while, but his true passion has always been with organizational side of things.

Two of these ten will be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame at the ceremony that will take place on November 9 in Las Vegas. The inductees will be announced once all the votes are returned to the Governing Council, sometime after October 10.

Who will receive the big honor this year?
