Free-play online poker action at IveyPoker.com has been suspended, as the site will apparently retool and re-launch in 2015, offering a better product to loyal followers.

"We plan on suspending the current game this Saturday, October 25th," read a tweet from Phil Ivey."Though that may sound ominous -- it's actually just the first step in our evolution as we prepare to launch an even bigger and better gaming experience for you all in 2015."

The site is part of Ivey's mission to teach players how to be more proficient at poker. Along with participating in the game itself, players are able to receive coaching and training from a stable of Team Ivey Pros at IveyLeague.com.

Ivey's tweet, which was duplicated in the form of an email to those who signed up to receive updates from IveyPoker, went on to say the following -

Since we launched our game here at Ivey Poker we've learned quite a few things...first and foremost is that a dedicated and loyal community is essential. So to our loyal players, we felt we needed to communicate to you about some changes you'll be seeing over the coming months."

The tweet and missive were a bit vague as to the full extent of those changes, but did inform that work has already begun "on multiple product extensions and new categories for Ivey Poker expansion in 2015. Stay tuned for more -- the best is yet to come!"

Hoping to retain the players and perhaps the subscribers who pay monthly to improve their game, Team Ivey Poker did not forget to give thanks to its loyal customers.

We do appreciate all you have done for us here at Ivey Poker, it has been a joy and a learning experience for all of us....and one that we hope will continue as we grow and evolve."
