He may be a big tennis star, but as far as poker goes, Rafa Nadal is still learning the ropes. This, however, did not prevent member of the Team Poker Stars - Sport Stars from making a big splash in his home game.

Last week, Rafa gathered his friends and family for a barbecue and some fun with cards. When you are Rafa Nadal it is not a huge surprise to see another big sport star taking a seat in your home game. Joining Rafa and his other friends for some friendly poker last week was Spanish basketball captain Juan Carlos Navarro.

But I am sure you are wondering about the big splash. Well, the game had some special rules that you will not find in the serious high-stakes games. It was played like a single-table freezout tournament, but the first one to bust had to endure a special penalty – he would have to jump into the pool. Just goes to say that you can make big splash in poker without actually playing obscene amounts of money.

Rafa was able to dodge this bullet, as he wasn’t the first to hit the rail, but couldn’t quite go all the way either. In the end it was Juan Carlos Navarro holding all the chips. But since the game was about having fun while eating and drinking, I’d dare say that everyone involved was a winner.

This definitely seems as a very pleasant way to spend an evening, but you don’t have to be Rafa Nadal to do it. Gather few friends, grab some beers and you are all set. And if you don’t have a pool handy, there is something else you can come up with as the penalty for the first one out. Good fun guaranteed – just watch that video!
