There are quite a few upsides to driving a car worth a quarter of a million, depending on who you are and what you want from life; but there is also one serious downside – when you end up in a car crash, you stand to lose a lot of money. That is something that Sam Trickett got to experience first-hand a couple of days ago when he totaled his £275,000 F458 Ferrari.

Luckily, Sam wasn’t injured, but from the picture, the car seems pretty much totaled. The repairs will probably cost a hefty sum (not that he can't afford it). Considering the damage done to his car, it could be a small miracle that the high roller did not suffer any injuries in the crash, the details of which remain unknown for the time being.

In an interview with Lee Davypublished not even ten days ago, Trickett mentioned the Ferrari and how the car had lost some £150,000 of its value since he purchased it 18 months ago. He admitted that buying that car was not the best financial decision, but also said that if he was allowed to keep only three of his possessions, the Ferrari would be one of them.

Sam told Davy that taking a ride in that car after a bad day really helps him relax and unwind. By the looks of it, however, it will take some work before that Ferrari is back on the road.

After Sam tweeted about what had happened, many of his followers chimed in to reconfirm that he was fine and to offer their ‘sympathies.' Since the only loss was a financial one, some of the comments were quite funny.
