As we slowly move away from the summer and into the autumn, the poker action will certainly heat up, and high stakes tables are unlikely to be an exception. Week before last saw Phil Ivey finally making steps in the right direction, while the Great Dane continued with his downwards trend, dipping below twenty million mark.

Last week started off well for Follow the Hawk who took it to the 2-7 tables and, according to HighStakesDB, seven hours and 1K hands later, he was $581,000 richer. Cort ‘thecorster’ Kibler-Melby had nothing to complain about either as his adventure at TD tables finished with the profit in excess of $380K. Alex ‘PostflopAction’ Kostritsyn and German pro ‘SanIker’ also finished the day in the northern region of #230K.

‘SanIker’ continued with his good run on Tuesday making the profit of $404K coming from the 2-7 Triple Draw tables. After having a really bad year so far, the German Pro finally turned the tides and is now in a six-figure profit for the year. ‘thecortster’ booked another profitable day, padding his bankroll with $226,200 according to HighstakesDB, while Phil ‘Polarizing’ Ivey also booked a six figure sum.

Wednesday was somewhat milder in terms of big winners, as the biggest winner of the day, ‘Trueteller’, finished ‘only’ $170.4K in the black. This is a small step in the right direction for ‘Trueteller’ who’s dropped a lot of money on highstakes table as of late. Cort ‘thecortster’ Kibler-Melbey continued his winning streak, adding another $165K according to HighstakesDB. It was a decent day for Kostritsyn as well, as he took $74K off the tables.

Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom had a good Thursday in terms of 24-hour period, but as the session continued into Friday his winnings kept getting away from him and what was $236K profit at one point turned into very little as the new day dawned. ‘Kagome Kagome’ had a good day with $121K according to HighstakesDB report and same goes for Patrik ‘FinddaGrind’ Antonius who added further $117.5K to his already inflated poker bankroll.

Ike ‘"luvtheWNBA’ Haxton and ‘Denoking’ have a special kind of rivalry that’s been going on for some time now. Friday saw them going at it again as HighstakesDB reports the duo moving up the limits and stopping only at $300/$600 NLHE Heads-Up tables. When it was all said and done, Ike walked away a big winner, with just shy of $557K added to his online assets. Another interesting matchup of the day took place between two legends – Patrik ‘FinddaGrind’ Antonius and Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates, and as HighstakesDB reports, Cates pulled of what only few were able to do – got better of the Finn and walked away from the 8-game tables with hefty $283K profit.

Things have not been going so hot off the feltfor Doug ‘WCGRider’ Polk, and on Saturday cards weren’t going his way either. ‘Denoking’ was looking to recoup some of his losses from the earlier session with Haxton and got into what was going to be an 11-hour long battle with Polk. As HighstakesDB reports, when both players had enough, ‘Denoking’ was up $229,000 making up some ground he had lost earlier. ‘the cortster’ also put in a quick but very profitable session of $197K continuing his god-like run which puts him on +$1.85 million for the past seven days.

Damage Control

Cort ‘thecorster’ Kibler-Melby was without a doubt the big story of the week, as the past seven days saw him amass winnings close to $2 million according to High Stakes Database. Majority of his winnings came from the 2-7 TD tables, a game that Kibler-Melby specializes in these days.

Ike ‘"luvtheWNBA’ Haxton only had his encounter with ‘Denoking’ on Friday and settled with the $557,000 profit for the week. ‘Denoking’, on the other hand, recouped some of those losses, but still ended up stuck about $342K according to HighStakesDB.

Patrik Antonius had a bad session against ‘Denoking’, but the Finn rarely books losing weeks. Past seven days were no exception as he finished $83K in the black. The same cannot be said for Phil Ivey who’s been playing as ‘Polarizing’ on Full Tilt. He had a huge last week, but he hit a downswing once again, losing $658K according to HighstakesDB.

Finally, Russian player Alex ‘PostflopAction’ Kostritsyn continued his consistent run at the nosebleeds booking another profitable week to the tune of $292,000.
