Weekly Highstakes Report: Blom Breaks Even, SanIker With Another Rough Week

With all the big tournaments that have been happening around the globe last couple of weeks, it was no big surprise to see the action at the nosebleeds tables decrease significantly. European Poker Tour in London and WSOP in Melbourne certainly attracted many of those who would otherwise create some action, but there were still some battling it out at the virtual felt.

Continuing the last week’s pattern, it was Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom creating the most action. His first match on Tuesday was against Alex ‘Alexonmoon’ Luneau at the $2k/$4k 2-7 TD tables. Two hours later, although Blom started off very strong, he was showing a profit of just $31,000 according to HighStakesDB. Luneau wouldn’t continue, but Viktor found the next taker in ‘punting-peddler’. The two took it to the 8-game tables and after just one hour, ‘Isildur1’ was stuck $181k.

After taking a short break, Blom returned in the action, this time against his favorite FLO8 rival ‘Carlooo13’. ‘Isildur1’ held the lead throughout the match, with ‘Carlooo13’ closing the gap a bit on several occasions but eventually losing around $250k to Blom according to HighStakesDB report. This put Viktor on around $94k profit for the day.

This was only a short break for the two rivals, as they were back at it tomorrow. On this occasion, it was ‘Carlooo13’ who walked away with a hefty profit of nearly $356k according to HighStakesDB. The two played several FLO8 sessions scattered throughout the evening, but Blom was failing to find a correct strategy against his opponent who was, also, running very good.

‘Isildur1’ is not the one to be disheartened lightly though and after taking some time to regroup, he returned to the tables the next day. Once again, he sat ‘Carlooo13’ and this round went to the Swedish phenom. Blom made a profit of $85k from a session that lasted barely over an hour.

He then moved to nosebleeds 2-7 TD tables where he would square off against the German pro SanIker. Things went right for Blom as he won over $400k from his opponent across several shorter sessions. This put ‘Isildur1’ over $500k profit-mark for the day, but unfortunately for him, he didn’t stop here. Blom sat ‘KPR16’ for some FLO8 action and this is where things started going downhill for the Swede, as ‘KPR16’ relieved him of nearly $144k in just forty minutes of play according to the HighStakesDB. With that loss, he still managed to end the official day up $317.7k.

Who Made Some Money?

With a lot of back and forth action last week, it is not easy to figure out who actually came out of it all making some profit. Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, for example, basically broke even, making a negligible profit of around $6,000.

‘Carlooo13’ was able to take some money to the bank, as the past seven days saw him make the profit of $40,000 according to HighStakesDB.

German player ‘SanIker’ really had a rough week as he ended up stuck $430k, most of his losses coming from the 2-7 TD matches against ‘Isildur1’. Kyle ‘KPR16’ Ray was one of the chief beneficiaries of this profit as he subsequently took the bulk of it off Blom and finished the week with $260k profit according to HighStakesDB.
