It seems that the dry spell that hit the high stakes tables is finally behind us, which is good news for the rail birds. With players back from WSOP and itching to play, this week saw a huge increase in action and a lot of money exchanged hands.

First big day of the week was Tuesday, when players took their seats at nosebleeds 8-game tables, and the biggest clash occurred between samrostan (Chun Lei Zhou) and Trueteller who ended up playing $1,500/3,000 heads up tables for couple hours. The game stopped about two hours in, with Truteller up $47k according to HighstakesDB.

On the evening of the same day, players were back at it, but this time the game of choice was $2k/4k 2-7 Triple Draw. SanIker joined the fun as well and the game went on for five hours, with a lot of ups and downs throughout. Sometime later into the session, Isildur1 and thecorster got into the mix as well, to get their share of high adrenaline action.

When it was time to finally call it a night, it was Trueteller booking the biggest win, as according to HighstakesDB, he took away $355k from the tables. Samrostan had a winning day as well, banking nearly $122,000. Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom started off well, but ended $110k in the hole, while thecorster was never able to get the things off the ground and ended $370,000 in the red.

The players took a short break, but they were back at it on Wednesday with pretty much the same lineup. Most of the action took place during two sessions. SanIker ended up making big profit during the first session and had quite swingy second one, but HighstakesDB reported his day ended with $256k profit. Trueteller continued his good run from Tuesday and added another $62k and change to his profits, while things turned for samrostan, who, after winning on Tuesday, dropped $144k. Isildur1 turned things around as well but for the better, and got up with $33k to the good.

It was Thursday that brought the kind of action that we have not seen for quite a while, as samrostan was able to finish the day with the profit in excess of half a million. Nearly $290k of that profit came from his heads-up 8-game matchup against Trueteller which lasted for well over five hours. After a short break, Zhou was back at it, this time on $1.5k/3k 2-7 tables. Once again, samrostan walked away a winner, adding another $221,000 to his bankroll, playing against the likes of Trueteller, Blom and Julis “Kagome Kagome” Fleischer.

Another big winner for the day was AckmaJin who made his profits on Poker Stars PLO tables, mostly playing against Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies, booking a session of $103,500 to the good according to HighstakesDB.

The last really big day was on Friday, when once again, all the usual suspects gathered to play some friendly poker. Alex “Alexonmoon” Luneau ended the day as the big winner, up close to $105k according to HighstakesDB. His profits came from the 2-7 Triple Draw action.

Samrostan continued his winning ways as well despite losing over $70k to Trueteller in 8-game HU matches. He made up for them and then some playing on Poker Stars, first in a NLHE session against Alex “Kanu7” Milar and Trueteller and then proceeded to win in an 8-game session against Vladimir Schemelev and Alex Luneau.

The Damage

Chun Lei Zhou a.k.a. samrostan was the big story of the last week. Playing on Full Tilt and Poker Stars, he earned just shy of $450,000 for the past seven days. Trueteller ended about $81.3K in the hole across the sites according to HighstakesDB. SanIker is having quite a week and at this moment, HighstakesDB has him up $408,500.

For Viktor Blom, it was rough seven days, as he ended up stuck about $184k. However, it was thecorster who had the worst week by far, ending $625,000 in the red!

Chips are flying through the air once again and huge pots are being dragged across the tables once again – and that’s the dream come true for every rail bird out there keeping an eye on the high stakes tables. I’m sure we will be seeing much more of these big sessions in the days and weeks to come so lean back and enjoy the ride.
