Networking parties are taking a backseat in Las Vegas this season. For MBA graduates who want to land on the management side of Caesars Entertainment, better get your poker face ready. The casino who hosts MBA poker tournaments is officially turning this year's event into a recruiting weekend. 300 students from some of top business programs in the country flew to Vegas and played. Just to clear, winning is not required to secure an on-site interview for the 10-week management trainee program, but it doesn't hurt. Caesars HR department said the crowd atmosphere and the real money at stake help the company to screen for critical thinking ability and social aptitude needed in the gambling industry. Golf is still the favorite passtime for the business elite, but poker is catching up. The younger professionals often prefer to sit at a table and talk casually than driving through a golf course.
