A television commercial promoting the 2015 Chrysler 300 began airing last night that included an appearance by 10-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Phil Ivey.
Making its debut during the "Big Bang Theory," the advert is part of a "Drive Proud" ad campaign that showcases Americans who have forged their own path to success. The spot is entitled "The Kings and Queens of America" and in addition to Ivey, features cameos from the likes of San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
"There is no royal blood in this country," explains narrator Peter Dinklage, perhaps best known for portraying Tyrion Lannister in "Game of Thrones" on HBO. "It's all just out there, waiting, for someone to reach out and take it. And the ones who do, these are the Kings and Queens of America."
A press release announcing the advertisement lists Ivey as a professional gambler/entrepreneur. Print and digital ads are also scheduled as part of the marketing campaign that is set to run through June. While the first TV ad was 60 seconds in length, other 30-second spots will be rolled out shortly.
"The Chrysler brand celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of Americans who refuse to give up, dedicate themselves to a craft and have the guts to turn dreams into reality," said FCA – Global Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois. "Because meaningful success doesn't appear magically on a silver platter, it is earned and should be rewarded."
Hmmm, and we thought Phil's taste in autos was more on the sporty side, as evidenced here.
