Drake Loses $850K on Logan Paul Fight

The Drake curse is back! The Canadian rapper just can’t catch a break when it comes to his sports betting picks. A couple of weeks ago, he placed a huge bet of $850,000 on Logan Paul to beat Dillon Danis by knockout, and it all went wrong when the MMA fighter was disqualified.

Drake posted a screenshot of his bet on Instagram, showing proof that he put the wager on Paul to win by knockout. If Paul had won by knockout, Drake would have won $1.351 million.

However, when the fight ended in a disqualification, Drake's bet was a loser, regardless of the fact that Paul was already well on his way to knocking out Danis.

Paul dominated the fight from bell to bell in every round and barring Danis' last-round antics, would have easily have secured the win.

It all went sour for Drake in the final seconds of the fight's final round when Danis successfully attempted a guillotine choke on Paul, turning the bout into an all-out brawl.

As security swarmed the ring, the fight was officially declared a Paul victory by disqualification.

Danis had actually promised to pull off a dirty move like this earlier in the week. "I'm going to choke him out. Who's going to stop me?," Danis told reporters a few days before the fight.

Will the Drake Curse Ever End?

Drake's sports betting activity over the last few years has been heavy, with him wagering well over $1 billion on various events. Some of the losses have been eye-watering, including a $250,000 loss on the Spanish F1 Grand Prix and a $275,000 loss on Jake Paul to defeat UFC fighter Nate Diaz in a boxing match.

British boxer Anthony Joshua fell victim to the curse in 2019 when he was upset by American Andy Ruiz in a heavyweight bout.

Only last month Drake bet $500k on Israel Adesanya to beat Sean Strickland at UFC 293 but the challenger and heavy underdog pulled off a massive upset.

We wonder which sporting event Drake will choose to throw money at next. We certainly won't be  taking any tips.
