There are obviously a few people in the poker world who make the rest of us envious, but numero uno in the list just has to be Gus Hansen – the highstakes hero living the ‘life of Reilly’ – his Instagram page showing that even at 44 years old the maestro knows how to enjoy the best that life has to offer.
First stop this week, following his Masterchef masterclass we reported on last week, was a very dapper-looking Gus rolling about drunk as a skunk – a night on the town ending with the obligatory eating chips from the floor!

Very little gets in the way of our man from Denmark enjoying life however, and the very next day he was out and about clearing the cobwebs and looking forward to a great summer…
…kicking off with the EPT in his adopted hometown of Monaco, Gus not quite shouting it from the rooftops, but enjoying the view as he psyched himself up for the upcoming festival…
While other stars of the poker world seem hellbent on creating chaos on Twitter, Gus just shares snippets of the ups and downs of a poker maestro on his Instagram account – on and off the tables – and his fans quite rightly lap it up…

…although there was some debate about whether ‘old school Gus’ was posing with a Porsche speedster 500 Spyder or a Porsche 356 roadster!? Looks like the latter to me, but I’m more of an old-school VW campervan man myself so what do I know? Readers I’m sure will let us know which it is, but it seems to be the perfect car for a man of Gus’ style.
Even the Great Dane’s lunchtime gets a look in, a healthy meal for a fit guy, but no chillis having us all a bit confused after his own cookery classes…

To top it all off, of course, Gus is back at the poker tables where he belongs, the high-stakes cash game crusher indulging in a bit of 200/400 PLO – with what looks like a €50k+ stack in front of him – with tough opposition and beautiful masseuses in the mix too!
And you know what? Nobody begrudges Gus a single moment of his amazing lifestyle – he’s a man’s man and a ladies man and a poker player’s man!
