Has Tom Dwan SCAMMED Again?! New 7-Figure Scandal!

Rumors and allegations are always rife in the poker world, especially when it comes to people not paying their debts or outright scamming others, but when one of the biggest names in the entire poker world is all but called a scammer – again! – and by another of poker’s brightest stars, it’s big news!

Tom Dwan – allegedly – is the man who owes fellow high-stakes legend Haralabos Voulgaris a 7-figure sum, according to Doug Polk in his latest podcast, Polk dissecting the clues from various sources to put Dwan in the scammer’s hot seat.

For those who don’t know Voulgaris, he is basically a sportsbetting supremo and an extremely good poker player to boot –although his multi-millions came from NBA betting. Why does this involve the mostly missing-in-action Dwan?

Well, as Polk explains to us, about a year ago Voulgaris told ‘Chicago’ Joey Ingram on his podcast that a ‘former NVG superhero’ has owed him a 7-figure sum since 2012, and simply won’t pay – the ‘nameless’ player finding excuse after excuse not to cough up the readies.

Now, there aren’t many people who fit the description Voulgaris gave, Polk running through a few – but “it wasn’t Erick ‘edog’ Lindgren according to the Greek-Canadian bettor, although when asked by Ingram if it was Dwan, he replied:

"I’m not going to say who it is.”

Well, as everyone and Polk knows, that’s one way of saying who it really is!

Anyway, this interview and discussion took place a year ago – so why on earth is it newsworthy now? Because, Polk tells us after running us through the details of the ’other scam’ Dwan has been involved in - the notorious Durrrr Challenge match against Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates – Voulgaris happened to notice that Dwan had been back on Twitter!

A rare affair to see ‘durrr’ tweeting, but it inspired Haralabos to tweet him the following…

Well, as Detective Polk explains, it’s not a tweet about arranging a tennis match!

Polk recently posted on 2+2about another ugly affair (involving Jason Mercier, his wife, Jaclynn Moskow and another OFC player Fernando Rosas, where cheating allegations have been bandied about) saying that you can get away with a lot by saying “in my opinion” or “I believe that”.

Here he does the exact same – and Dwan takes a bit of a beating, regardless of there being no proof beyond the circumstantial.

Adding to the ‘alleged scamming – again’, Polk then dons a tinfoil hat to ridicule Dwan’s subsequent tweets about Trump, national security and the intelligence services among other ‘conspiracy-theory’ posts.

To be honest, in my opinion Polk should have finished things with the Voulgaris story – because if things are half as bad for Dwan as the tweets suggest, he needs serious help rather than a public ravaging of his mental health.
