Sam Grafton Under Fire for Political Tweet

Sam Grafton is taking flak on X/Twitter over a political tweet apparently showing support for the Hamas attack on Israel earlier today.

The high stakes tournament player posted a tweet displaying a Palestinian flag on the morning of a terrorist attack that saw innocent civilians killed and multiple kidnappings.

Many of those following the thread sent Grafton abuse and tagged PokerStars, asking for it to remove Grafton from his ambassadorial role with the industry leader.

“I hope @PokerStars will get rid of you, you scumbag. The poker community should ban you from every poker game in the world. Shame on you“

“Hey @PokerStars hope ur next paycheck to this dude, Sam, who supports the "peacefull and democratic" regime of the Hammas, will be the last one. Hope u sleep well tonight mate. Ill do my best to show u some of the horrors u publicly support, when we meet in Merit in a few days.”

Should poker players in ambassadorial roles get involved in passionate political debates that only serve to divide the community?

It’s not as if anybody connected to poker has any sway on the situation that has been ongoing for 75 years. And raising awareness isn’t going to change anything when the world is well aware of the complexities involved.
