Do you think it's possible for someone to eat $1,000 worth of McDonalds food in 36 hours??? That’s the challenge facing Mike Noori, getting 5-1 odds from Matt Savage if he can wolf down enough burgers and fries in a day and half.
As prop bets go, it’s a strange (and rather distasteful one in this writer’s opinion) but it has spawned some unintentional hilarity on the forums as posters try to work out a way to win the really difficult bet!
Difficult why? Well, Savage’s stipulations for the prop bet are extensive – and certain forumites have also outlined exactly how much of a challenge eating so much food of any kind really is.
Exact terms of bet as per Matt Savage: “Eat $1,000 worth of McDonalds.
- $200 max on salads.
- At least $300 on hot foods (fries, burgers, chicken). At least $50 of that has to be burgers!
- Can drink but drinks don't count towards total. (Can't order meals with drinks)
- Cannot remove items from order
- Can add to existing order (bacon on burgers)
- Must eat everything that comes with order.
- No blender, must eat it as it comes.
- Puke ok, forced puke or repeated puke DQ.
- Must always have impartial observer with.
- No inflated pricing McDs (airports)
5-1 odds. 36 hours (noon 5/19 to midnight 5/21).
Food cost paid by MN if loses. Split if wins.”

Reaction to the prop bet has varied from “impossible” to “doable if he finds an angle” and that’s exactly what the 2+2 forumites have been working on this weekend!
"I thought it was impossible as well but the trick is the extras they sell for a large amount of money. He's planning on using $500 to buy the packages of apple slices. Each bag is $1 and has only 15 calories. You can also spend a bunch of money and get guacamole and bacon add-ons for things. I think it'll be very very hard, but possible," was Gobbo’s take on the bet.
Straightfloosh explained the nugget-approach’s impossibility: "If he did only nuggets: ‘$5 per 20 nugget box. That's 200 boxes of nuggets. That's 4000 nuggets. That's 111.11 nuggets/hour spread over 36 hours. That's 1.85 nuggets/minute. THAT'S TOO MANY NUGGETS", while SuperSwag ripped the ‘lettuce-approach’ to shreds:
"FYI lettuce is filling, professional eaters eat lettuce to stretch their stomachs. So spending 200 on salads and trying to eat it would be completely dumb."
Savage himself is keenly aware that Noori will have some clever scheme in mind, accepting the poorly-priced bet making no sense otherwise.
$500 in apple slices, $200 in salads, bacon, cheese, guacamole add-ons, and smooth move tea believe me @MikeNoori definitely has an angle. https://t.co/l72AmSjGiD

Mike ‘the Mouth’ Matusow, doesn’t seem to think it would be such a problem gorging on vast quantities of McDonalds grub, tweeting his own offer…
I can do it ill even bet 10k i can do it https://t.co/o3zP1Humxk

There’s no word yet whether the McDonalds over-indulgence will be live-streamed or not, but your scribe for one will be avoiding that option if it happens – even if Matusow offers to commentate!
