Watch as a player identified as ‘Weez’ makes the comeback of the year while on Live at the Bike

According to poker folklore, Jack “Treetop” Strauss was down to a single 500 chip while on the 1982 World Series of Poker Main Event. Seeing this, he said:

“As long as I have a chip and a chair, I’m still alive in this event.”

As the story goes, Jack used that single chip to go on a historic run that culminated with him winning the Main Event. His comeback story has been repeated over the years, we sometimes embellish the details but the basics are the same. Huge comebacks like this are possible in poker, but they’re still rare.

After a comically bad run on a live-streamed $5-$5 no-limit hold‘em cash game at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, a player nicknamed Weez took $50 to the Bicycle pits hoping to make something out of a bad night.

He returned moments later having turned those $50 into $1300 and sat back down to give the live stream audience at home something to talk about.
