The Brazilian Series Of Poker Sao Paulo has fallen a little bit under the radar as the poker world turns its attention elsewhere. However this year’s BSOP Sao Paulo Main Event has proven to be as competitive as it is popular, with 14 players still remaining at the start of the final day of play.

It is a big drop from the original field of players who took to the felt in Brazil’s biggest city just three days ago. A total of 1,649 entries were recorded in the Main Event – 728 on Day 1A and 921 on Day 1B.

580 players from the starting flights made the cut to the second of play, and that was quickly cut down to 98 in time for Day 3.

Competition only got fiercer from there, however, as just 14 managed to make it to end of the day in time for Day 4.

Marcel Carli will have the lead going into Day 4, with a stack of 8,780,000 to his name. He has quite a buffer over the second largest chip holder, Diogo Dill, who will have 5,070,000 chips when he enters the final day of play.

Jorge Moutella had the chip lead when Day 3 began, and while he was unable to keep it throughout the day, he was able to survive and finish with a stack of 5,025,000. That gives Moutella the third largest chip stack of the remaining players in the BSOP Sao Paulo Main Event.

The top 231 players in this event were in the money, with the minimum prize being a modest 4260 Brazilian Reals (around US$1,270).

It gets a bit better for the final table players, however.

Ninth place is set to leave with a cash prize of 44500 Reals (around US$13,255), while the prize triples for the fifth place player, who is set to leave with 145,800 Reals (around $US43,430).

Second place in the Main Event is set to get a 365,010 Real (around US$108,720) boost to their bank account, while the winner will take home a very respectable 570,000 Reals (around US$169,780) for their efforts in the tournament.

As always, we at PokerTube will keep readers updated with all of the action and results of the final day of play at the BSOP Sao Paulo Main Event.
