There are some great mysteries in the universe that we might never find out the answers too: What happened to Jimmy Hoffa? Who shot president Kennedy? Was 9/11 an inside job? What about that light in the fridge? Does it stay on when you close it? Is Durrrr a member of the Illuminati? And, lastly what are the best Sunday tournament picks? Well... while we can't be sure of anything when it comes to the first few questions (though personally I'm a huge fan of the riff on Hanlon's razor: "Never call a conspiracy something that can be explained by incompetence") we're going to try to answer the last one in this article with a little help from a high stakes tournament pro and immensely popular Twitch streamer - Parker "Tonkaaaa" Talbot.

1. $215 Sunday Million (PokerStars)

"Pretty self-explanatory... anyone that plays online poker KNOWS that the Sunday Million is the dream. This tournament is the be all end all for us dreamers. I have three final two tables in it with one 6th place. One day we'll get there!"

Just like the man said, winning Sunday Million is pretty much THE dream of every player out there and therefore no other tournament would be a better pick for this list. If you're fortunate enough to be able to play high stakes online MTT's Sunday Million is one of the best options out there. This tournament is almost like a World Series of Poker Main Event played every Sunday. A huge field full of many under-rolled recreational players - lured by the promise of a one million dollar guaranteed prize pool - is the reason why Sunday Million is such a high EV tournament.

2. $700 Super-Sized Sunday Progressive KO (PokerStars)

"This is one of my favorite tournaments of the week! I'm in love with progressive KOs and a big juicy Sunday event hits the spot for me. Only ever gotten 15th I think in this once where I lost AA to AQ for a monstrosity of a pot on a Q-hi flop."

Progressive KO tournaments took the poker world by storm so there's no surprise that Tonkaaaa and other high stakes tournament pros are willing to do their best impression of a pirate every Sunday and in the name of value urge their opponents to "surrender the booty" via the use of superior betting patterns. Progressive KO tournaments put a very interesting spin on the otherwise stale MTT formula. There's a lot of play to them since you always have to consider the added value of bounties.

3. $215 Sunday Warmup (PokerStars)

"This is my second most successful tournament ever! I have two seconds with one chop and $200k+ in cashes in it. I love it and if I'm playing a Sunday I will not be missing it."

Sunday Million's little brother. Smaller and arguably tougher field, but some pros do prefer that because Sunday Warmup is less unpredictable than its bigger brother. It's also a great tournament to start your afternoon (or evening depending on the time zone) session with. While Sunday Million is flashy and exciting Sunday Warmup is more of a "blue collar" tournament for MTT pros hoping for just another good day at the office.

4. $215 Megadeep Turbo (888)

"This is a cheeky one. If you're like me and love a good turbo tournament then the Megadeep Turbo on 888 is beautiful. With a quick structure, decent field and nice top prize, this is a weekly endeavor for me. I have one win in this only, but I will find more!"

PokerStars is not the only place frequented by high stakes tournament pros. Other poker rooms also offer a wide variety of Sunday majors and 888's $215 Megadeep Turbo is one of the most interesting options. There's a lot of play to this tournament in the early and medium stages of the game; at the same time 6minute blind levels ensure that you won't have to stay up to the late evening or even early morning hours (for the Europeans out there) if you end up going deep. While $50 000 guaranteed prize pool looks somewhat modest when compared to $215 tournaments on PokerStars the field size is also much more manageable and there's still a great value to be had.

5. $530 PartyPoker Highroller (PartyPoker)

"The Highroller is a daily tournament that as you can imagine is made bigger and better by a big margin on a Sunday. With 2x reentries, 20min levels and huge field/prize-pool it can be a pretty nice Sunday Saver. As it's a daily tournament I think I have about every finish you can have in the Party Highroller!"

Speaking of "blue collar" tournaments, this one might as well be renamed to "Tonkaaaa's Office". If you're a serious online tournament pro and Sunday is not the only day synonymous with major tournaments for your PartyPokerHighroller is the event to play. Sunday makes it even better with the much-needed influx of recreational players resulting in higher than average EV.

6. $320/$600 Whale (888)

"The Whalerbud as I always call it on 888 is awesome as it goes from a relatively HS tournament to a more affordable one from Sunday to Sunday. My lifetime results in this one aren't great but every week I'm in there battling trying!"

If you're unimpressed by the guaranteed prize pool of $215 Megadeep Turbo, 888's $320/$600 Whale Sunday major will be more your speed. While "MTT's bring more disappointment than dating and life insurance combined" Whale tries to combat that with very deep stacks and very slow blind structure which some pros really enjoy. The slower the structure the bigger the chance that - in the words of great Macho Man Randy Savage - "The cream will rise to the top", and that's very important when you're buying-in to play with some virtual chips and cards for $320/$600 week after week.
