It’s that time of year again when TonyBet Poker launches their Open-Face Chinese online GrandPrix with a host of different events and formats for lovers of the exciting new format.

Although the site has branched out this year to offer a much wider range of games than their traditional OFC offerings, the online Grand Prix is one of the most popular tournament schedules for those looking to indulge in the Chinese version of the game as popularised by the likes of Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, and US poker and chess pro Jennifer Shahade.

The 17 event schedule sees four of the most popular variants in the week-long annual shindig, including Pineapple, Turbo, 2-7 Pineapple, and Progressive Fantasy, with buy-ins ranging from €10 to €200.

The Main Event, the €200 Freezeout Pineapple will take place on the 15th May, with a €5000 guarantee. However, OFC enthusiasts can build up to the biggie with a slew of other tournaments starting on May 8th when the €10 Freezeout Pineapple kicks off the Grand Prix schedule.

TonyBet Poker are now on their 3rd Annual Grand Prix, and were recently featured on our ‘soft site’ radar where I introduced the site as “the brainchild of Antanas ‘TonyG’ Guoga, one of the poker world’s biggest personalities.”

Aside from the up-coming online Grand Prix, they run a ‘bricks and mortar’ OFC World Championship event, where well-known chess and poker pro Jennifer Shahade picked up $100,000 and the title last year in the Super High Roller.

Shahade said of the game:

One thing is for sure: bankrolls will be bolstered and demolished as thousands are seduced by the delicate balance between gambling and just creating a legal hand.”

OFC is fast becoming a female-dominated game. Isabelle ‘No Mercy’ Mercier recently took down the Progressive Pineapple title while Russia’s Alexandra Usoltseva scooped the Main Event!

For those who are yet to reach such dizzy heights, this year’s online version also offers you the chance to play the first event virtually for free. Pop €10 inyour TonyBet account (which they’ll double anyway) and enter the bonus code GRANDPRIX10 and a tournament ticket will be on its way.

With up to three events per day, the Grand Prix seems set to continue the successful approach which has enticed many players to make the switch from their usual games.
