Full Tilt has announced that Marc Kennedy has been signed to perform a new role at the poker room, taking on duties under the title of "Player Ambassador" and acting as a liaison between players and FTP management.

Kennedy's hiring comes on the heels of a recent announcement by Full Tilt that a number of changes will be made at the site in order to level the playing field between pros and recreational players. Modifying the player loyalty program and increasing rake at certain levels were the first changes announced two weeks ago, and tabbing Kennedy as Player Ambassador was the next.

"Marc’s addition to the team is a vital one, as we realise the importance of having ‘a man on the ground’ while we reshape online poker to better meet the needs of recreational players,” said FTP Managing Director Dominic Mansour. “Marc will help us improve the online poker experience by sharing his love for the game, passion for our product and understanding of customer issues with the entire team."

Kennedy's qualifications for the new position are outstanding. He began playing poker in 2007, building a huge bankroll at Full Tilt by multi-tabling full ring games. After Black Friday, he transitioned to 6-max tables out of necessity.

The Black Card Pro competition was announced and Kennedy devoted all his time and energy to that, putting in 16-hour days, sometimes seven days a week. When the promotion ended, Kennedy retired "as the undefeated champion of the Rush-High Category," he explained on the Full Tilt blog.

Kennedy, who was born in England and eventually made his way to Australia, is familiar with the ins and outs of online poker at Full Tilt, having spent so much time playing there. He sees his new position not as that of a sponsored pro, but one at which he will be "working with the [Full Tilt] team on any changes to the product that may have an impact on players," Kennedy said.

“I’m here to be their voice, and want to hear from all players, whether currently playing at Full Tilt or not, if they’ve any concerns they want me to raise with Full Tilt or with any ideas they have," he added.

Kennedy will continue to grind at Full Tilt while acting as a player liason. He can be reached on Twitter @PlayinWitDreams, his nickname at 2 + 2 is 'Sparky999,' and his Twitch channel is @MarcKennedy. He plans to stream on Twitch, as well as write a couple articles every month for the Full Tilt blog.

Kudos to Full Tilt for realizing that the need for such a position exists and congratulations to Marc on accepting the responsibility! It's reassuring to know that the opinions and desires of players will be communicated where poker room ecology and gameplay are involved.
