June and July tend to be the best months for poker in the US state of Nevada. Players from all over the US and the world descend on the state to play at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), which leads to increased business for most, if not all, poker rooms in the state.

This proved to the case this year, as poker rooms in Nevada – both live and online - recorded total revenues of $11,458,000 last month. That is the second best month in terms of revenue so far in 2015, with the best month being June, during which $15.8 million was recorded.

July’s revenue was a 6% increase on revenues that were collected by the state’s poker rooms last July. That was the third straight month that Nevada’s poker rooms registered an overall year-on-year increase in revenues, something that is likely to be welcomed by poker operators around the state.

Last month’s revenue brings the total poker revenue for 2015 to $74,131,000. Monthly revenues for the rest of the year are likely to be lower due to the bulk of the WSOP having finished midway thoroughly July.

There were a total of 68 poker rooms and 743 poker cash tables in operation in Nevada during the month of July. The seven day player traffic average of the main online poker network in the state, WSOP, peaked at 220 during that month, a significant increase over the 170 players it is currently averaging.
