WPN Million Dollar Sunday Becoming Overlay Sunday
8 years ago12 Oct
If the Winning Poker Network (WPN) is looking for a new name for its Million Dollar Sunday tournaments, it may want to consider calling them Overlay Sunday.
Of course, if the overlays continue at the current rate in the $1 million guaranteed tournaments such as the $137,000 overlay yesterday, more players may enter and the guarantee will be reached. But that has yet to happen in the first three of five Million Dollar Sundays scheduled this fall, one last month and four in October.
The number of players entered in yesterday's Million Dollar Sunday totaled 1,726, resulting in an $863,000 prize pool on the $500 + $40 buy-in. That was a bit higher than the previous week when 1,605 players joined the action.

'A1phd0ggg' took the title on Sunday, October 11, taking home $150K. That was less than the $200,000 guaranteed prize for the winner, as 'A1phd0ggg' made a deal with 'NickYunis' when only two players remained. 'NickYunis' is $140K richer for his performance and turned out to be wise for making the deal and grabbing about $30K more than he would have without the chop.
Congratulations to A1phad0ggg for taking 150K and NickYunis 140K.

'NickYunis' was actually the chip leader by a slim margin when play got down to the the final two players. He knocked out 3rd place finisher 'OpJeMuil' when his pocket Jacks held up against big slick. 'OpJeMuil' had to settle for $73,800 when neither an Ace nor a King materialized on the board.
Two More Million Dollar (Overlay) Sundays
The action continues on Sunday, October 18 when installment #4 of the Million Dollar Sundays kicks off at 5:00 p.m. ET. Americas Cardroom and Black Chip Poker are the leading skins on WPN. Both poker rooms run a bunch of satellites prior to the big event.
If you're looking for value in online tournament action, you may want to click your way over to one of the WPN poker sites. Of course, WPN is open to U.S. players and hosts the only $1 million guaranteed tournaments that Americans can participate in.
