The Winning Poker Network (WPN) has announced that five tournaments that each guarantee a prize pool of $1 million have been scheduled for September and October.

Anchored by U.S.-friendly Americas Cardroom (ACR), WPN will host the Million Dollar Sundays on Sept. 13 and Oct. 4,11,18 and 25. Players at fellow WPN skins such as Black Chip Poker, Ya Poker and True Poker will also be part of the action.

The blockbuster announcement from WPN came on the heels of a Million Dollar Sunday tournament held yesterday, August 2. It was the third such million dollar guaranteed event this year for the U.S.-facing network - and was a smashing success.

A total of 1,939 entries including re-entries bought in for $500 + $40, creating a prize pool of $969,500. Adding the $40 rake, the $1 million guarantee was reached at $1,047,060.

The Million Dollar Sunday events promise a whopping $200,000 to the winner. Yesterday's champ was 'Ra1syDa1sy,' who almost doubled the prize money of runner-up 'TALKINABOOT?,' who took home $109,500. Rounding out the top five were 'fast riffs' ($72,800), 'breakfr33' ($57,800) and 'Harpo0n'( $43,800).

Players can win entries to the upcoming million dollar tournaments via satellites or through promotions such as 'Spin to Get IN' or ‘Million or Bust’ at ACR. WPN is hoping to make Million Dollar Sundays a weekly event and player participation will likely be the deciding factor on whether or not that goal is reached.

So get ready for $5 million in guaranteed tournaments this fall and perhaps many more to come!
