Is there anything more frustrating than playing an online poker tournament and losing your connection while attempting to build a big chip stack?

It's likely happened to all of us at one time or another and the frustration experienced can certainly make one's blood boil. Unfortunately for players at 888poker, it seems that connection problems have been all too frequent as of late.

According to a post at an 888poker online forum a few days ago, a disgruntled player who had complained about experiencing connectivity issues while multi-tabling received an email from 888poker that informed him that the matter was being tended to post-haste.

"888poker has experienced intermittent disruptions of our service to you due to problems with our internet service provider (ISP) during the last 2 weeks," said the missive. "We would like to assure you that resolving these issues is our top priority and we are working with our partners to ensure the interruptions come to an end."

The industry's second most popular poker room took further action by activating a new "pause tournament" feature that will allow the site to suspend the action when network disruptions reach a peak. The tournament clock will be put on hold during the necessitated pause, similar to that of a break in the tournament as is typically done hourly.

"We will resume activity once the network returns to normal behavior or cancel tournaments altogether, ensuring players are automatically refunded in accordance with 888's disconnection policy," the email further stated.

That's good news for players who can now rest assured that their chips won't be blinded off while waiting for a reconnection.
