Scooping $100,000 at The Kitchen Table!

It’s the dream of every Spin ‘n’ Go addict out there to see the magical jackpot appear at their table, and for one lucky PokerStars player it happened during a random kitchen-table poker session surrounded by friends and family!
James 'VaderWolf' Piccolo suddenly spotted one of his $10 buy-in SNG tables had $120,000 in prizes, and once he’d managed to turn his camera-phone the right way up, was dealt pocket aces on the very first hand in the 3-way shove-fest which appeals to the gambler-style poker amateurs.
Knocking out one of his rivals immediately would have seen me much more excited and voluble than ‘VaderWolf’ gets – just one spot away from a $100k payday – and in fact he doesn’t even close his other table while waiting for his heads-up opponent to play!
With a friend asking about ranges, and another mentioning ‘a new car’ in the background, it’s not exactly conducive to playing for a couple of year’s salary, but our hero somehow manages to make the right plays, helped by a lot of king-high hands well-worth shoving.
Though the shaky camera-work makes it hard to see exactly what’s going on, the running commentary helps out, Piccolo’s voice getting ever squeakier as the big win approaches.
King-seven against queen-nine sees our man pleading for a king, but the board bricks completely and king-high is enough to scoop the lion’s share of the jackpot , Piccolo exclaiming:
"Yes, we just won $100,000!”
Zooming in to show us his new balance, ‘VaderWolf’ explains through his shock:
"I just had 590 bucks – I now have $100 thousand. OK!”
“This didn’t just happen?!” says his friend, but it’s right there on his screen – a life-changing win for the SNG regular playing in the New Jersey pool of PokerStars players.
The Durmont player has had a few small cashes on the live scene, but nothing to compare with this kitchen-table win – and although haters gonna hate as comments on YouTube show, he did nothing wrong heads-up and fully deserves his victory.
Spin and Go’s, which appeared on the scene of most sites a couple of years ago, might not be considered ‘real poker’ for many reasons, but they certainly add excitement to the poker world – and that should be good for the game somewhere down the line.
