Although the name of Fabian Quoss is the one well known to players and poker fans alike, not much is known about the life of this German player. Born in 1983, it seems that he took extra precautions and avoided interviews and any personal revelations. He studied in Munich, but life of a poker professional apparently was more appealing and he became the part of the German players’ contingency that has taken over the poker world by storm during the recent years. His first serious score came not long after he appeared on the live tournament circuit. During the 2009 WSOP, he came runner up in the $5k No Limit event with more than 650 entrants, taking home nearly $430,000. Next year he got the first place in the English Poker Open worth $340,000. He made some very noticeable results in the Aussie Millions as well, placing 3rd and 5th respectively in the $250k Challenge in 2013 and 2014 for combined cashes of over $1.5 million. His biggest single cash came during the 2014 PCA when he managed to take home the title and the prize money $1,630,000 in the Super High Roller Event. His lifetime tournament cashes are in the vicinity of $5.3 million. This puts him in the 4th position on the Germany All Time Money List, and 81st for the global All Time Money List at the time of writing this article. Fabian Quoss was very happy about his PCA win, as he felt it was his big breakthrough and that the luck was now turning his way. Additional pleasure came from the fact that he was able to outplay Tobias Reinkemeier and Igor Kurganov. Although they are very good friends off the felt, when they are at the same table, nothing brings them more pleasure than outplaying each other and teasing one another about the plays they made and bluffs they pulled after the tournament is over. This kind of competitive drive and constant desire to better the competition is probably one of the reasons he found so much success in tournament poker so far. Currently residing in London, it can be presumed that his friendship with likes of Tobias Reinkemeier and Philipp Gruissem had something to do with his impressive poker results as well. The footage of his 2013 $250k Challenge final table, where Quoss took the 3rd place, can be found right here on Pokertube.
