Scott Blumstein Takes the WSOP Main Event title!
Scott Blumstein won the Main Event bracelet, $8,150,000 and a place in poker history!
Pennsylvanian local Matt Glantz is a multi-talented man in the world of poker. Not only does he play the game professionally, but he also helps to put together televised poker events as well as working as a business consultant for Rush Street Gaming. He might just be the best player ever that hasn’t managed to win a major WSOP or WPT title, racking up $6,487,469 in live tournament winnings but still longing for that much-desired bracelet.
Matt’s biggest win to date was in the 2009 EPT £20,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller event in London, where he finished in first-place for a staggering $862,837. In an entertaining final-table line-up that included Ilari Sahamies and Erik Cajelais, Glantz emerged victorious in a field awash with tough competitors.
Although he’s not managed to win a WSOP bracelet as of yet, he has come agonisingly close on numerous occasions. The closest of these was in 2005 when he finished runner-up in the $3,000 No Limit Hold’em event. A mixed-game enthusiast, Glantz has reached a WSOP final table a total of nine times with combined earnings in the series surpassing $2,900,000.
Popular amongst players in the poker world, Glantz is an integral part of the TV show Poker Night in America. Working as a producer and responsible for getting the right players in to make for an entertaining game, Matt often takes part in the televised cash game action himself at the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia. Following a highly-publicised Twitter feud between poker players Mike Dentale and Cate Hall, Glantz was the driving force in putting together the entertaining grudge match that took place between the two of them to settle the beef.
An outspoken presence on Twitter and a generally entertaining character, you can find out more about Matt at PokerTube’s exclusive interview with him here.
