€2.6million Winner Kabrhel Jumps Straight Into Kassouf Deeb Fight
Kabrhel and Deeb started a verbal war with things like "Go back to the US!", "You talk too much!" and more
Shaun Deeb is an American professional poker player and one of the most winning players in online tournament history.
Shaun Deeb was born on March 1, 1986 in Troy, New York. At the age of 16 Shaun Deeb began playing poker, even hosting his own rebut tournaments with a $20 buy in. Those games continued into college at Bentley University, although like so many others he had time focusing on his studies when there was money to be made in the online poker boom. Eventually, he gave up on classes altogether and decided to play poker full time.
Primarily an online player, he has had multiple cashes of the size that most people can only dream of obtaining a single time. He has won $144k in a 2008 WCOOP event on Pokerstars, $244k in WCOOP in 2010, and $312k on Full Tilt in 2001 to name a few. In all, he has had over 3,000 cashes in tournaments, many more than most players of his generation.
Deeb is known for playing many tournaments at a time, sometimes as many as twenty. Where many players would lose focus, he thrives and that is what has made him one of the most successful players online. His focus has been primarily on texas hold’em, but he does play a variety of games to have a well rounded view of poker hoping that will help him play better no matter what game he is playing. He has made other adventures into blackjack as well, even wagering $1 million on UltimateBet in a single week.
At the age of 24, Shaun Deeb shocked many by announcing on TwoPlusTwo that he was going to retire from poker. He said at the time that he was dealing with intense burnout and couldn't keep up the volume that he had been playing. Estimates of his volume have suggested that he played as many as 35,000 online tournaments between the age of 21, when he started playing online, and 2009.
That retirement did not last long, as many predicted, and he returned at EPT 6 in Monte Carlo, playing the €5,000 NLHE event and taking eleventh place. His live play has been slow since then, but he is back in full force playing online, although he has not returned to the life of a twenty table grinder that got him his start.
Deep won Event 15 of the World Series of Poker in 2015 to capture his first bracelet in the $10k Pot Limit Hold’em Championship. In addition to being his first bracelet win, it was the largest live cash of his career, netting him $318k. As of October 2015, his total live cashes total $2.1 million, but online his cashes come in at an incredible $6.2 million, showing his power as an online player.
He continues to play live high roller tournaments across the globe and consistently makes deep runs on PokerStars in hopes of once again topping the leaderboard.
