Underdogs at UFC Fight Night Crush Bookmaker

A rarity occurred in Porto Alegre, Brazil a few nights ago when the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) held Fight Night 61 and the favorite heading into each match won only once out of 11 events.
Bettors who love getting odds and playing the underdogs had a huge day, causing the Bovada sportsbook to suffer a loss of almost $1 million. ESPN reported that parlay bets for a few dollars scored wins in the thousands of dollars for longshot bettors.
A $4 parlay bet on all the underdogs was good for $85,000 for one gambler. Yet another managed a $100,000 score by winning $25,000 on each of four parlays costing $1 a piece.
The favorites were "not only losing, but in most cases, not even making it close,"reported mmafighting.com.
Kevin Bradley, Bovada's sportsbook manager, stated that it is unlikely that the loss will find its way back to Bovada from the pockets of the longshot winners. Those bettors typically wager a few bucks on underdogs in an attempt to walk away with a huge score. For one night, it worked.
