A $5 Bet Parlayed Into $1Million at Borgata

It's the dream of every gambler: A small bet hits and results in a massive win of life-changing money.

It happened to a New Jersey man at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City recently when he hit a 6-card royal flush while playing Three Card Poker. A wager of $5 on a "6 Card Bonus" bet paid a $1,000,000 prize for an elderly gentleman identified as Harold M. of Lakewood, N.J.

Harold was dealt 10-Q-A of diamonds and the dealer held 9-J-K of the same suit. That equates to a 6-card royal flush and a $1 million payout.

Borgata reported that the huge win on a $5 bet was a first for the casino since opening in 2003. The odds of hitting such a score were pegged at more than 20 million to 1, CBS Philadelphia reported.

No word on whether Harold is being investigated for any improprieties such as edge sorting.
