PartyPoker Bets on South America with The Latin American Poker Championship

PartyPoker is making a huge push for the growing Latin-American market, after taking the WSOP Brazil and WSOP Uruguay sponsorship deals from under 888, they've confirmed the inaugural Latin American Poker Championship (LAPC).

Besides the $110 Main Event and the two High Roller events, which will have buy-ins of $5300 and $2200 and a $200K guarantee, the rest of the tournament will be very affordable, with buy-ins ranging from $110 to $550. Though If that's still too rich for your blood, daily and weekly online satellites are available now on PartyPoker, where players can win a seat to the LAPC for as little as one cent

This is no small investment, these are low buy-ins and high guarantees for live tournaments. This push on the region was likely inspired by the recent success of the WSOPC Uruguay, WPT Uruguay and smaller events in the country like the Enjoy Poker Series (EPS)

Even the EPS, a relatively unknown poker series in the global scale, has been able to attract international attention, featuring players from all over Latin America who travel every year to Punta del Este, not for the beaches or the food, but for the poker tournaments.

This phenomenon is not limited to just Uruguay, Argentinian, Brazilian and Chilean events are seeing similar turnouts. The Latin American markets are hungry for live poker, and PartyPoker seems ready to test just how much.

PartyPoker recently released the festival schedule, headlined by an $1100 Main Event with a Million dollar guarantee and two High Roller events with a two day late reg period. It begins with an Open of $220 and the $5300 High Roller, then there will be a $550 warm-up leading up to the Main Event and the $2200 High Roller. A $220 "Finale" tournament bookends the week.

The LAPC will run from February 24 to March 4, 2018, at the Enjoy Conrad Casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Check out the full tournament schedule below:
