A royal flush in spades was worth $2,699,320 for a lucky gambler at The Venetian last month, the largest score ever paid out in the casino’s “Millionaire Progressive” jackpot promotion.

The new millionaire, who chose to remain anonymous, placed a $5 side bet on a hand of Ultimate Texas Hold’em. The side bet is a requirement to be eligible for the mega tier of the progressive jackpot of the casino poker table game. A natural spade royal flush is also a requirement.

The record-breaking win marked the 11th time that the progressive jackpot has been hit since The Venetian rolled out the promo in 2018. Along with Ultimate Texas Hold’em, the progressive jackpot is also in play on the Mississippi Stud, Let it Ride, Three Card Poker and Crazy 4 Poker table games.

After the jackpot is hit, the pot is re-set at $1 million. A little more than a week after the $2.7 million score, another player who placed a $5 side bet hit a royal flush on an Ultimate Texas Hold’em table at The Venetian.

However, that royal flush was in clubs. The payout was $435,580. Not shabby at all, but a far cry from $2,699,320.
