Mike ‘the Mouth’ Matusow took to Twitter to decry ‘the farce the WSOP has become’, berating the fact that players can late reg once chunks of a tournament field are already out and find themselves with an easy cash – apparently without even playing a single hand in one instance…
Mike the Mouth pointed to the ‘greedy WSOP’ as being behind the problem, the structures allowing some to survive despite being short-stacked when they arrive…
His rants were hardly met with universal support, however, many followers and poker fans pointing out that players are allowed to do what they want with their money and stacks…
…and there is also the important point that buying in late means you have a short stack when others may have built up a large one, and the blind levels are already relatively high, most late ‘reggers’ paying a hefty price for this…
…but who knows what Mike will tweet if Dan Zack follows up his late rush to the chip lead in the $10k Limit Hold’em championship event…
