The Christmas holidays are behind us and most of us have spent the days in bliss and happiness. But the Christmas holidays were not so fortunate for Jan-Peter Jachtmann, the German high stakes Pot Limit Omaha specialist. In 2012 the German pro won the $10 000 Pot-Limit Omaha World Championship for his first WSOP bracelet and on the Christmas Eve the bracelet was stolen from his home in Reinbek, Germany.

The police claim that the house was a target of an organized burglary on December 24th between the hours of 7:40 pm and 4:00 am. The robbers apparently entered the player’s home through a window and spent quite a bit of time trashing the house searching for cash and other valuables. In the end they left the house with a 5 figure sum of cash and poker chips, a laptop and the coveted WSOP bracelet.

After the police had finished their report and a few days had past, Jachtmann decided to take the case to the social media and made a post about the whole episode on his personal Facebook profile, offering €20,000 for anyone who could help him recover the bracelet. The player seemed quite stressed over the whole event and asked his friends to try and help out as he stated he had little faith police would actually succeed in recovering his belongings.

According to the police, this was a professional and targeted burglary," Jachtmann wrote. "While they were looking for cash, the burglars have devastated my whole house. Unfortunately, they have been successful as they stole a larger five-figure sum in Dollars and Swiss Francs. What hurts me the most though, is that they stole also my WSOP gold bracelet from the 2012 pot-limit Omaha World Cup. For me this was the worst Christmas of my life.

So far there have been no new developments on the case, and it seems that the robbery was a deed of a professional group who knew the house would be empty and targeted Jachtmann as it is well known he is a poker player and was likely to hold cash and other valuables in his home.

We hope sincerely that further investigation by the police will result in Jachtmann’s bracelet being found and urge anyone who may have any helpful information to contact the player or the police.
