The only female player among a field of 10 that included five Hollywood stars and four other poker pros took down the Super High Roller Celebrity Shootout as Vanessa Selbst proved yet again that she is among the elite of the world's top poker players.

Selbst grabbed the $1 million winner-take-all prize by outdueling Kevin Pollack, who was the best among five celebrity players. But Pollack would not get a chance to play the role of champion - at least not for this event - as Selbst took center stage by claiming victory.

Pollack advanced to the best-of-three heads-up match against Selbst by outplaying fellow Hollywood celebs Hank Azaria, Don Cheadle, Norm Macdonald and Brad Garrett. The latter is likely bemoaning his fate and rumor has it that he was heard mumbling "Everybody Loves Kevin" while watching from the rail after being eliminated.

There were no gripes heard from the poker pros that Selbst managed to dispatch, as Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu have become accustomed to watching Selbst make it to the final stages of poker tournaments since bursting onto the scene nine years ago. She has three WSOP gold bracelets and is the all-time winningest female poker player - ever.

A date with the Poker Hall of Fame awaits Selbst. But enshrinement is on hold until 2024 after she celebrates her 40th birthday.

In the meantime, celebrations are in order for Poker Central, who sponsored the Super High Roller Celebrity Shootout. Poker Central will soon be broadcasting poker-related programming round-the clock.

It will be the go-to channel for poker fans and players who need their fix of poker. They will be able to get that fix in the form of "unique all‑day, everyday access to exclusive poker tournaments, celebrity players, tips and tricks from the pros, player profiles, and stunning destinations from around the globe."

Poker Central's launch date is set for October 1. Stay tuned to PokerTube for more information and updates.
