This is Negreanu’s first public talk about the state of online poker in the States since his interview with NewJerseyCasinos.com back in April. Negreanu talked to New Jersey media, claiming that more states should legalize online poker in order to help the survival of the industry.

Legalization of online poker in California has been discussed for over a year, but all efforts to legalize it might fail to convince concerned parties that online gambling is good thing for CA.

However when one of the seven bills in the state advanced out of a legislative committee it provided a real hope that online gambling might be legalized this year.

Currently only Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware have legalized online poker many other states are currently discussing the legalization of online gambling industry but efforts to legalize the industry have failed in a great number of them, for example Mississippi, where state officials said that Mississippi is not ready for online gambling.

Sheldon Adelson who is an opponent to the legalization of online poker has financed an anti-online campaign that probably had impact on many states' governments. Due to his strong political links and money that he donated to several political parties, many government officials have backed his anti-online campaign.

It is uncertain how much this PokeStars public initiative will help California when it comes to legalization, but it will certainly give local legislators an insight into the online gambling industry.
