2016 Aussie Millions Schedule Released

January 2016 is set to be another big month in the calendar of poker professionals and ambitious amateurs across the globe as the 2016 Aussie Millions is set to take place during the first month of 2016.

The schedule for the 19-day long poker championship was released by Crown gaming company and it looks like there will be something to please just about every player.

Next year’s Aussie Millions will have 24 events, including the AUD$250,000 Challenge and the Main Event, as well as events with buy-ins of as much as AUD$100,000.

The Aussie Millions is set to take place at the Crown Melbourne, in the bustling south-eastern Australian city.

Crown Melbourne Tournament Director Joel Williams said that he expected next year’s championship to be as popular as recent Aussie Millions events that have taken place.

The 2016 Aussie Millions is set to kick off on January 13, with the first starting flight of an AUD$1,150 No Limit Hold’em event serving as an opening event.

February 1 will be the closing day of the Aussie Millions, which is set to conclude with the second and last day of the $250,000 Challenge.

The Aussie Millions have attracted some of the world’s best and most notable poker players over its 18-year existence, and next year’s championship shouldn't be any different in that regard. Players such as Jason Mercier, Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari and Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson have all visited ‘Down Under’ to play in the Aussie Millions in the recent years.

In fact, Ivey took out the famous $250,000 Challenge at the 2015 event, which took place earlier in the year, and won AUD$2.5 million for his stellar performance.

This year’s Aussie Millions AUD$10,600 Main Event was won by Melbourne player Manny Stavropoulos, who beat a total field of 648 to take the top spot and its AUD$1,385,000 first prize.
