PokerStars and Neymar Jr Charity Event

Amaya and PokerStars have announced launching of the series of free online tournaments, ultimately giving players an opportunity to meet Neymar Jr and join him in a live charity poker tournament.

Neymar Jr. Charity Home Game will take place on July 26th during the Brazilian Series of Poker and will be streamed online at PokerStars.tv.

Tournament, which will be held in São Paulo, will have a $1,000 buy-in and all proceeds from the buy-in will go to Neymar Jr Institute. The Institute was established in 2014 and helps unprivileged children from São Paulo and their families. Neymar’s institute provides football and school activities for children in order to develop skills that will have a positive impact on their quality of life.

Such activities help children overcome social problems and keep them away from crime and violence. Neymar believes that knowledge and opportunities can change lives of numerous families.

PokerStars stated that they were delighted to support this charity tournament and the work of his institute. Besides the fact that PokerStars is the most popular and biggest poker site in the world, they have put a lot of effort into helping different charities and causes over the years.

Sue Hammett, Head of Corporate Giving for PokerStars, said that Neymar’s Institute has similar goals as PokerStars’ corporate giving program Helping Hands. Helping Hands also uses sports to enrich and transform people’s lives.

The charity poker event will feature numerous celebrities, poker players, Neymar’s friends and of course Neymar himself, who will gather together to play poker and raise money for a good cause. Although this is primarily a charity effort, there are numerous prizes for those finishing on top, including a ticket for the Brazilian Series of Poker and Neymar’s signed memorabilia. PokerStars donated some of the prizes for the tournament.
