A 53 year-old man killed himself near the buffet at M Resort Spa and Casino because, according to available information, he lost free buffet eating privileges. Guests were shocked and worried for their families while man named John Noble was lying in a pool of blood on Easter Sunday.

As it was reported, the suicide has happened at about 4:50 pm while people were dining and waiting in line for food. Before John Noble committed suicide he sent letter to the Las Vegas Review Journal where he described his plan to kill himself. In his final message that was received by the newspaper on Monday he wrote that his life will end because of M Resort and its employees.

John explained that he became depressed after casino awarded him free meals in buffet for life than banned him from the property due to harassing women who worked there. Las Vegas Review Journal also received more than 270 pages of documents and notes, photographs and DVD of him talking about his problems with casino.

Nobel was awarded with lifetime buffet pass which he won at the contest in 2010 but in March 2013, employees filed complaints about him. As John wrote in the letter, he was described as a stalker and drinker even though he had friendly relationship with the hostess. Due to his behavior, he was banned from the property and the casino warned him that he would be arrested if he returned.

Later in 2013, John was trying to contact the media and tell his story because he wasn't feeling guilty at all and thought that casino was trying to destroy him. He met with the reporter of Las Vegas Review Journal and talked about his issues with casino and its employees. He couldn’t deal with the fact that he was banned from the property and that he no longer owns free buffet eating privileges. John was heart-broken and he continued to attack resort and its workers on social media by posting their photos and their personal information.

He didn't forgive them and he tragically ended his life in front of the guests and Resort’s employee. Scotty Rutledge, vice president of marketing for M resort said that grief consoling is offered for the employees and refused to comment further on the incident.

Many people have witnessed John’s death, including parents with the kids who just wanted to enjoy their meal on Easter Sunday. A witness has explained that no one really knew what was going on when they heard the shot. Most of the people have seen Nobel lying in the pool of blood but didn't know who shot him or what really happened. No one else was shot but two people have suffered minor injuries and one was taken to the hospital after a fall.

The image was quite disturbing for guests, especially the kids who were present at the time of the suicide. Several people have posted on Twitter after the incident, expressing their shock and a relief that their families were now safe.

Mental health care experts have said that public suicides are troubling because they usually receive media coverage that can have influence on depressed and vulnerable people.

Sadly, suicides at casino property, related to gambling or other issues, are not that unusual. In 2009, a man who had suicide note with him, shot a casino worker in Atlantic City and planned to commit suicide but was stopped by the police. There are numerous cases that also shocked guests and employees at different casinos. In one of them , a 23 year-old man who shot himself in the mouth. In a different one, a young gambler killed himself at a casino in Illinois after losing $900 at a blackjack table.

Vaughan Allen, state suicide prevention coordinator, said that people who have suicidal thoughts should ask for help and identify the issue before it reaches “the crisis of suicide.”
