Vanessa Selbst Passes Bar Exam

Vanessa Selbst has always been a dangerous opponent on the poker tables. Over $10 million in lifetime earnings and three WSOP gold bracelets are evidence of that.
But poker's all-time female money winner may now become a tough adversary to contend with in the courtroom. Selbst announced on Twitter recently that she achieved success in passing the bar exam following some grueling sessions of studying.
Passed the bar exam. Anxiously studied twice as long as everyone else; thus scored way higher than necessary. I want months of my life back!

After obtaining a degree in Political Science at Yale University, Selbst went on to study law at Yale Law School and earned a degree in 2012. In a blog post at her website, the 30-year-old called her time in law school "one of the most intellectually challenging experiences of my life."
After finishing up at Yale, the PokerStars Team Pro concentrated on poker. The bar exam remained on her list of things to do, but took a back seat to the challenges of navigating tournament fields.
Selbst stated last December that "as I get older, I’m trying to understand what my life will look like down the road, in all of its facets. I plan on being a poker player for a long time, but I also wanted to get started on my other goals so that I can have a dual career."
One of those goals has now been achieved with the bar exam out of the way. So too are the many hours of studying required to do so.
"I’m excited to take on this next chapter of my life so that in the short term, in between poker tournaments, I can take on cases for indigent defendants who need representation," Selbst posted. "In the medium-term, maybe I’ll take some bigger impact cases on issues I care about."
A word of advice to lawyers facing Selbst in the courtroom. Beware!
