Big:I:f you’re one of those people who fancies a game of poker with your dinner then the Pata Negra in the UK city of Bristol is the place for you to be.

That is because online poker giant PokerStars have teamed up with the Spanish restaurant to come up with a special ‘pay-by-poker’ menu for customers who wish to combine their love of the game with good food.

The joint PokerStars – PataNegra poker-themed eatery comes after PokerStars launched a similar ‘All-In Kitchen’ in London with the Jones & Sons restaurant.

Chefs at the restaurant have come up with a number of dishes that will commemorate the joint operation, with includes such dishes as Big Blind Iberico Meats and Three of a Kind Sweet Pepper, Courgette and Aubergine Skewer with Romesco Sauce.

So some of you might be asking if there is any more poker besides the references made by the names of the dishes.

There certainly is.

Diners who wish to get a poker-inspired discount on their meal will be able to play a three-handed game of poker free of charge.

The winner of the three-handed tournament will get their meal absolutely free, while second place stands to get ÂŁ10 off their meal, which is still a good price considering that a three-course poker-themed meal costs ÂŁ18.

The third place player-diner will also leave better off as they will get ÂŁ5 off their meal at the end of the night.

Players/diners who wish to have a game of poker at PataNegra will have to be quick, however, since the joint pay by poker scheme will only happen from July 27 to July 29.

This has been done as a way to promote the upcoming UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Bristol, which will occur the week after the pay-by-pay poker restaurant is set to end.

The joint restaurant/poker initiatives have been a creative and effective promotional tool for PokerStars and their UK events, which have proven to be popular with local players in recent years.

It is not yet clear whether PokerStars will engage in similar promotions elsewhere in the future. However, it will be no surprise if it does considering the success and coverage that has been given to both of their ‘pay-by-poker’ promotions to date.
