Europeans Blasé Toward Daily Fantasy Sports

A recent poll found that Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) will likely not reach the popularity levels in Europe that it has in the U.S.
A survey by eGaming Review revealed that half of the gamblers in Europe who responded to the poll appear quite content with legalized sports betting options available to them and don't see DFS catching on. Of the remaining 50%, roughly 1/4 believe that European operators who enter the DFS wagering market will not see quick profits, while the other 25% have faith that DFS may likely enhance sports betting in the country.
DFS is growing by leaps and bounds in the U.S., with estimates revealing that the industry could reach $2.6 billion by the end of the decade. The U.S. does not permit legalized betting on sports in the vast majority of the nation, but does allow DFS wagering.
Europeans have long been enjoying regulated sports betting, a fact which many believe will keep DFS from booming as it has in America. FanDuel rules the roost in the U.S. DFS market, with DraftKings on its heels. Amaya Gaming is expected to enter the DFS market later this year.
