PokerStars Signs Football Super Star Neymar

There's been a lot of rumor going around lately about PokerStars signing a famous footballer to their ranks. Different names were thrown around and there's been a lot of guesswork based on some rather inconclusive evidence. The rumors can now settle for a while, as the online poker giant confirmed in the press release sent out today that they have signed a contract with Brazilian football super star Neymar Jr.

Young sports star with a massive social media following is certainly a valuable addition to the PokerStars, as his presence at both live and virtual felt will pique the interest of many of his fans. To substantiate the claims of his social media a bit more - Neymar has in excess of 18 million followers on Twitter and his official Facebook fan page has more than 51 million fans.

With this move, PokerStars continues its strategy of increasing the brand presence through the contracts with some of the biggest names in sports today. Another thing going for Neymar is the fact that he is already an avid poker fan and recreational player who posts photos of him and his friends playing in home games on regular basis. Even his dog is aptly named Poker!
