If you blinked today, you may have missed out on seeing the last day of the APPT Seoul Main Event.

Well, there may have been a little bit of hyperbole in that statement, but the fact was that the final table of the major tournament was over quicker than most people would have expected.

It took just six hours on the third and final day of play for a champion to be crowned at the Main Event in South Korea’s capital city.

That champion turned out to be American poker marvel Jason Mo, who topped the field to win the event and the US$151,384 cash prize that came along with it.

It capped off a strong final table effort from Mo as he eliminated five of the last nine players en route to winning the Main Event.

The first of those was Japanese player Takeya Suzuki, who was knocked out of the APPT Seoul in ninth place when his Ace King was unable to crack the Pocket Kings of Mo.

Irishman Daniel Kneafsey was the next to leave the tournament after Bryan Huang’s Ace King was able to crack his starting hand to put the event down to seven.

Mo would then claim his second final table scalp when he eliminated Dong Kim from the event. Kim moved all in pre flop with King Queen off suit and was immediately called by Mo, who had a better hand in Ace Jack off suit.

The board ended up giving Mo a straight with the Ace, which further cemented his lead and knocked Kim out of the event in seventh spot.

Huang would not be outdone in the scalp tally though, as he would be the one to send Vladimir Demenkov packing in sixth place. Huang was actually behind Demenkov pre-flop, but the turn gave him a straight to put him in front before he eventually won the hand.

After that, three scalps went to Mo, starting with elimination of Tyler Jennens from the final table. It came as Jennens went all in with Ace King before being called by Mo, whose Pocket Queens held on the board to put the event down to its final four players.

Next to go was one of the most famous faces on the Asian poker circuit, Celina Lin. Lin had been playing solidly in the APPT Seoul Main Event, but a huge bout of bad luck sent her home in fourth place.

Lin moved all in with Pocket Tens and she was called by Daniel Demicki, who had King Three of Diamonds. While only one diamond came on the flop, the turn and river both also yielded diamonds, which gave Demicki a flush to win him the hand.

The win didn’t help Demicki very much, however, as he was eliminated in third place a short time later after his Ace Jack of Clubs was unable to crack Mo’s Pocket Threes.

Demicki’s elimination left Mo and Huang in heads-up play, with Mo having held a mammoth 9 to 1 chip lead when play began.

Huang was able to lower the deficit early on, but Mo’s original lead was just far too much as he eventually overwhelmed his heads-up opponent to take out the event.

In the event’s final hand, Mo went all-in pre flop with aq and was called by Huang, who tuned Ace-Eight off suit. The 104k flop kept Huang comfortably in front, as did the 5 on the turn.

The q gave Mo a poignant end to the hand and the event as he paired his Queens to win the APPT Seoul Main Event.
