There are few players as successful in both online poker and live tournament play as Chris Moorman, and now 888Poker.com have signed the star as their newest ambassador.
The 30-year old from Brighton on the south coast of England boasts over $13million in online winnings, 25 online ‘triple crowns’, and an impressive $4million from live tournament play – and now joins the likes of Kara Scott, Dominik Nitsche, and Sofie Lovgren as one of the brightest new faces for the ambitious poker site.
Moorman tweeted yesterday that he was:
So excited to announce that I've joined 888poker as their newest ambassador! #888pokerpic.twitter.com/XCf8gPA2VD

With the departure of some of 888Poker’s ‘old school’ favorites, the brand is looking towards the future –and the Englishman, who will play under the name ‘888moorman’ from now on– is enthusiastic about the future.
888 is doing big things and really is working hard to expand their reach in poker”, he stated yesterday, adding: “Things like sponsoring the WSOP and the Super High Roller Bowl have shown they are committed to their growth of the brand and I can’t wait to see what they have coming up in the future.”
Moorman’s online success saw him become the first player to pass the $10million mark for tournament wins and he has consistently topped the all-time online earners list. The 25 triple crowns he has achieved mark 3 different tournament wins, on 3 different poker networks, over the course of any seven-day period – a feat very few players manage, let alone 25 times.
Formerly sponsored by the now-defunct Lock Poker, Moorman’s new role with 888Poker comes exactly one year to the day since the online giants signed German pro Dominik Nitsche, who was among the first to congratulate the Brit, tweeting:
excited to hear that Moorman1 joined @888poker
can't think of anyone I have played more hands with in the past 10 years
welcome mate— Dominik Nitsche (@DominikNitsche) June 9, 2016
Moorman said of his new stable-mate:
Dominik is one of the best players in the world to have won 3 bracelets at his age is an incredible achievement", adding that the other members of Team 888Poker “…are all great players and ambassadors of the game. Also they all gave such a warm welcome to the team and I am excited to represent the site alongside them. I’ve known Kara for a long time and (she) does an incredible job presenting and is a great poker player as well.”
As for his playing plans, Moorman revealed:
My plans for this summer are to win a bracelet! In all seriousness, though, something like that you can’t predict. I just want to play my absolute best, and hopefully, good things will happen. I will be in most of the No Limit events and some of the PLO as well."
Speaking about his new sponsor’s online presence, he explained:
888poker has a good amount of play at the final tables, which is important when there are big money jumps on the line," adding that, “There are a good variety of buy-ins and field sizes are great as well. I think the player pool appreciates the well-structured tournaments on 888poker,” he continued. “Recently, in online poker, the schedules have been infused with turbo tournaments and most of the tournaments on 888poker are regular speed, rather than turbo, which allows you to actually get to play proper poker instead of watching all-ins every five seconds!"
Moorman also plans on taking his online career into the increasingly popular TwitchTV arena, stating that:
Now that I am an 888poker Team Pro, I will start streaming some final tables on Twitch," adding, "I look forward to interacting with the players as a representative of the site."
If you want to keep track of Moorman's 888Poker progress on the felt, follow him on Twitter @Moorman1, make sure to subscribe to his Twitch channel and watch out for him not only at the currently-running WSOP, but also this autumn as he takes on his first 888Live event at Aspers in London.
